How to set up your club's first curling league
From an empty club to a printed schedule. Create a season, add a league and teams, generate a fair round robin and invite your curlers.

This guide walks a club admin or league coordinator through a first league, start to finish. Plan on about half an hour the first time. After that it’s a few minutes a season.
Before you start: your club needs to exist in Haxis. Get in touch and we’ll create it, along with your first admin accounts.
1. Create the season
Sign in to the admin console and open Seasons. Add a season with its start and end dates. Add blackout dates for holidays and bonspiel weekends, and the schedule generator will skip them.
2. Add the league
Open Leagues and choose Add league. Give it a name (“Tuesday Men”, “Thursday Mixed”) and set:
- the format (fours or mixed doubles),
- the number of ends (4 to 12, 8 by default),
- whether ties are allowed,
- your draw times and sheets.
3. Add teams
On Teams, add teams one at a time or import a CSV with team names and players. Splitting the league into divisions? Do it here.
Rolling a league over from last season? Use the season rollover to bring teams forward, re-ranked into new divisions.
4. Collect requests
Teams always have requests: a bye on a certain week, an early draw, a late draw. Enter them in the requests panel. If a bye matters more than finishing on time, tick Guarantee bye requests.
5. Generate the schedule
Pick how the generator should use your ice:
- Keep ice full: every sheet in use every night.
- Spread evenly: games spread across the season.
Then choose Generate. Haxis balances early and late draws and sheet assignments, avoids teams sitting out two weeks in a row, and can keep divisions in the same draw. Not happy with it? Change a setting and generate again. Nothing is published until you save.
Already have a schedule in a spreadsheet? Import it from a CSV or Excel draw grid instead.
6. Print it for the club board
Open the schedule report and Export PDF. You get a landscape page with one column per sheet and byes down the side, ready for the bulletin board.
7. Invite your curlers
From each team, Invite the roster by email. Players tap the link, create an account (or sign in) and land on their team, with their email verified. Team emails stay in a private record, never on the public roster.
8. Hand out roles
Give volunteers exactly what they need under Users: a league manager for this league, scorers for game nights, stats recorders if you track shots. Every change anyone makes shows up in Activity.
That’s it. Scores entered from the rink update the standings straight away, and curlers get their reminders automatically.
